Chamber San Mateo County
Chamber San Mateo County offers the Redwood City Chamber, which focuses on economic prosperity through business advocacy and collaboration. Membership includes over 1,000 member organizations representing over 55,000 employees, including Cañada College. The Chamber includes a diverse collaboration between the community, educators, not-for-profits, large business, small business, public officials and professionals. The Chamber hosts valuable events, such as the Good Morning Redwood City event and Progress Seminar. They also coordinate a year-long Leadership seminar.
SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives)
SCORE is a national not-for-profit association dedicated to helping small businesses launch their business, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has many locations and chapters around the United States. Their work is supported by the Small Business Administration (SBA). Business owners can participate in free business mentorship or participate in local workshops for a nominal fee.
The closest locations to Cañada College are the San Francisco SCORE office and the Silicon Valley SCORE office in San Jose.
Small Business Administration (SBA)
The United States Small Business Administration (SBA) is an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns. The SBA helps Americans start, build and grow businesses. Their resources include help you plan, launch, manage and grow your business. The SBA has free business counseling, SBA-guaranteed business loans, home and business disaster loans, and federal government contracting help.
Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
Small Business Development Centers assist small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs to realize the dream of business ownerships. SBDC advisors provide aspiring and current small business owners a variety of free business consulting and low-cost training services including: business plan development, manufacturing assistance, financial packaging and lending assistance, exporting and importing support, disaster recovery assistance, procurement and contracting aid, market research help, 8(a) program support, and healthcare guidance.
The closest SBDC location to Cañada College is the San Mateo SBDC at the College of San Mateo Campus. There are also locations throughout the Bay Area,
including locations in San Francisco, Oakland , and San Jose.
Campus Resources
Business Hub
The Business Hub is the center of the Business, Accounting, and Computer Business Office Technology on campus. The space functions not only as a classroom, but also as a collaborative workspace for students, and a place where they can go to work on homework with the assistance of instructional aides. The Business Hub is located on the top floor of Building 13, Room 217.
Transfer Center
Students interested in transferring to a four-year college or university may use Transfer Services to research universities, majors, academic requirements, college costs, and other transfer matters. Resources include college catalogs, college directories, articulation information, and access to PROJECT ASSIST, a self-guided site that provides general education, major and course equivalency information.
Career Center
The primary goal of the Career Center is to assist students to develop and carry out both short- and long-term employment and career goals. Services provided include; Resume Creation, Cover Letter Help, Workshops (LinkedIn, etc), Self Assessments, Advising, Job Search, and help with College Central Network, the campus job board.
Concurrent Enrollment for High School Students
The College Connection Concurrent Enrollment Program is designed to provide current high students who have completed the 8th grade or higher at time of entering course the opportunity to get an “early start” on their college experience, earn college credits, while still enrolled in high school. High school students can take college courses for free!
Disability Resource Center
Ensures educational access so that students with disabilities have every reasonable opportunity to meet their educational goals, provide educational support so that students with disabilities can demonstrate their skills, and create a learning environment in which students with disabilities may become independent, interdependent and integrated in our global community.

SparkPoint
The SparkPoint Cañada College Center is a one-stop financial education center where students and community members can access a full range of free services to achieve financial self-sufficiency. Services include, but are not limited to; financial coaching, food pantry, and a free legal clinic. Open to students and the larger community.

A resource center and safe space for undocumented students and allies.
