Centering Identities and Experiences
Students who join the S.T.A.R. Learning Community will have the opportunity to take special classes that highlight their own identities and experiences, utilizing an Ethnic Studies lens! Additionally, the S.T.A.R. Learning Community will help ensure that your voice, experience, identity, and cultural values are represented here on campus!
Spring 2025 Special Courses
For Spring 2025, the S.T.A.R. Learning Community will feature two courses, reserved just for students who have joined the community! These courses will center Asian American voices, experience, and history through various racial, ethnic and immigrant communities:

S.T.A.R. stands for Success, Transfer, Access, and Relevance.
- Success: removing systemic barriers and centering the student’s identities to support and empower students to define their own success.

- Access: centering the Ethnic Studies lens to respond to educational equities and to challenge Eurocentric curriculum.
- Relevance: transforming campus climate, culture and curriculum by prioritizing wellness and hope.
